The fourth annual Life Settlement Awareness Month® (LSAM) is designed to bring the industry’s most comprehensive and up-to-date educational information to investors and financial professionals worldwide.
Education is a key factor in expanding your capabilities to offer life settlements to senior clientele or begin investing in the asset class. In these turbulent and constantly changing times, education can be the key to a very successful settlement practice.
The impetus for LSAM was born from the annual survey on the life settlement industry conducted by Agent Media Corporation in conjunction with the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) that cited the number one deterrent for entering the life settlement industry is a lack of education.
Survey results from 2009 showed that 82 percent of those surveyed believe there is some potential for additional income from life settlements; 74 percent stated that they would discuss settlements with their clients; and 39 percent have senior clients whose needs have changed. However, only 37 percent stated that they have actually completed a settlement transaction; the others have not mainly due to the lack of knowledge and marketing resources.
While the survey results showed some improvement in industry awareness from last year, we believe there is still much to be done. That is why LSS brings you the marketing and educational resources of the fourth annual Life Settlement Awareness Month – the 30-day culmination of the company’s year-long educational efforts.
